How It Works? (Step-by-Step Process)

  1. Place your order online or in-store
  2. We send you a sealed package (or receive your card in-person)
  3. Chip is extracted and embedded into your chosen metal card
  4. Your name, card number & expiry date are laser-engraved on to the back of your card
  5. We return both your new metal card and the original plastic one

Is It Legal? Yes — Here's Why

  • The card is your property once issued
  • Customizing the body of the card is legal, as long as the chip and data are not altered
  • Bangladesh Bank does not restrict physical customization
  • We operate strictly within the bounds of BB compliance + Visa/Mastercard guidelines

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my card is misused during the process?

We handle your card with strict security protocols, and all team members involved are NDA-bound and trained. That said, if any NFC (tap) transaction occurs while the card is in our possession (extremely unlikely as the chip is removed), we take full responsibility for it.

Will the NFC (tap-to-pay) feature work?

No, NFC/tap-to-pay will not work on our current metal cards, as the NFC chip cannot be transferred from your plastic card.

However, we’re working on launching NFC-enabled metal cards very soon.

Whether your specific card is eligible for NFC transfer can only be confirmed after we physically inspect the card, as NFC chip placement and compatibility vary by bank and card model.

Stay tuned — exciting upgrades are on the way!

Will it work at ATMs and POS machines?

Yes, your metal card will work at almost all ATMs and POS machines that support chip insert.

⚠️ Please note: Some very old ATMs may not recognize non-plastic cards due to outdated hardware. However, this is rare, and your card will function normally in modern machines and POS terminals.

Tap-to-pay (NFC) will not work on the metal card, as the NFC chip cannot be transferred.

Can I still use the plastic card after the conversion?

No — once the chip is removed from your plastic card, it becomes non-functional. However, we return your original card along with the new metal card for record-keeping or reactivation purposes (if ever needed).

What if I get a new card issued after expiry or loss?

If your bank issues you a new card, you can always come back to us for a new metal card conversion. Since each metal card is engraved with your card number and expiry date, these details cannot be modified once made.
